The Shikoku Electric Power Company set up the International Business & Cooperation Department in April 2018 to bolster international business advancement.
The Department today has expanded our activity sites to countries around the world, centered on overseas power generation projects, and it has plans for active business expansion in the coming years.
Our international business involves promoting various projects, primarily constructing and operating power plants, as well as selling electric power, as part of infrastructure development in countries and regions where strong electric power demand is expected.
Since participating in our first overseas power generation project in Qatar, we have widened our activities to sites in Oman, Chile, the United States, the United Arab Emirates, Myanmar, Vietnam and Saudi Arabia, reaching a total equity capacity of approximately 1.11 million kW.
We have also diversified our range of power generation methods from thermal power generation to renewable energy — solar, hydropower, and wind power — with the aim of further developing our international business.
